Cheetah (3.5 years – 4.5 years)
Cheetah Class is a multi-age classroom where children learn to be a part of a community. Montessori materials in this classroom are still focused on practical life, but language and math take an important role. Montessori educates the whole child, so socialization, grace and manners, self-discipline and conflict resolution is a priority. In addition to being exposed to math materials that help the children develop an awareness of numbers, counting and basic math operations, at this stage the children also have access to language materials to develop the preliminary skills for writing and reading. Specially-created materials in the Cheetah class serve to give the children a sense of satisfaction and guide them to become more independent in their learning.
